Leadership Message – Issue Sixteen

Sacrament of Confirmation

“Those who have been baptised continue on the path of Christian initiation through the Sacrament of Confirmation. In this way, they receive the Holy Spirit, conforming them more perfectly to Christ and strengthening them so that they may bear witness to Christ for the building up of his body in faith and love.” (Rite of Confirmation, nn. 1-2)

To celebrate the end of term and grand final weeks, on Thursday 24 September, the students will be permitted to wear ‘free dress’ on the day and come to school in their favourite team’s outfits.

A sausage sizzle and fruit box will be coordinated to celebrate the day with the funds raised going towards the refurbishing of the Veritas Library in 2021. Canteen – Money

Commencing next term, the canteen will, once again, be selling items over the counter at recess and lunch times. Money will be exchanged with the change given to students being sanitised, until Phase 5 is implemented. Parents no longer need to order items normally sold over the counter, such as hash browns, ice creams, etc, online, however we encourage parents to continue to order their children’s lunches via the website.

Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated this weekend (Friday night and two celebrations on the Saturday). Please keep our young students, in Year 6, in your prayers as they continue with their faith journey.

The OLA Fathering Project

Last night, OLA launched the OLA Fathering Project, and a great night was had by those who attended the session. I would like to thank Brian, Bruno, Ciaran and Michael for coordinating the event, and future events, and the OLA P&F for sponsoring the project and making the funds available for the program.

Thank you.
