Leadership Message – Issue Seventeen

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Come in Your Favourite Sports Team

A reminder we will be celebrating the end of Term, on Thursday 24 September, with a ‘free dress’ (Favourite sports team – any code) and a sausage sizzle.

Confirmation

Congratulations to all the Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation over the weekend. Just as Baptism gives new life, Eucharist nourishes life, and Reconciliation restores life when it is broken, Confirmation strengthens that life by the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is about strengthening what God has given, and continues to give, to his sons and daughters, as they travel through their faith journey.

A huge thank you to Mr McIntyre and Ms Knight, and Franco from the OLA Parish for preparing the students, the students who served and sang in the choirs, to all those involved in the celebration, and Fr Ken for being so accommodating and being the main celebrant.

MSP Photo Orders

A reminder that orders for our school photos close today, please refer to the MSP website for ordering information. If you do not know your child’s individual shootkey, please contact the School Office.

Pupil Free Day & Students Return

Friday 25 September is a pupil free day for all students. Students return to school on Monday 12 October.

Faction Carnival – Sausage Sizzle and Morning Tea

On Thursday 15 October, the school will be having their Faction Carnival, as indicated on the term planner. The canteen will be closed for the day, however, we will be having a sausage sizzle and cake stall at the venue (cake stall for the parents only). The sausage sizzle and fruit box/water will need to be pre-ordered for the children. Parents will also be able to purchase a sausage, in a bun on the day, however for catering purposes, we ask that you indicate your intentions to purchase a sausage on the attached order form and pay on the day.

We are asking parents to donate cakes and different morning tea items, for the staff to sell to parents on the day. If you’re able to donate a cake (with the ingredients clearly labelled) please bring the items on the day and pass it on to our canteen manageress, Maria, who will be coordinating the items. A coffee van has been organised and will also be on-site. Students will not be able to purchase morning tea on the day and are requested to bring their own morning tea, drink bottles and lunch (if not ordering a sausage in a bun). Attached is the order form.

Sausage Sizzle Note – OLA Faction Carnival

Please note, the regular Canteen menu (through QuickCliq) will not be available on the day.

Term 4 Calendar

Attached is the updated Term 4 Calendar, but there may be changes due to Covid-19 restrictions. If scheduled items change, you will all be informed.

Canteen – Money

Commencing next term, the canteen will, once again, be selling items over the counter at recess and lunchtimes. Money will be exchanged with the change given to students being sanitised, until Phase 5 is implemented. Parents no longer need to order items normally sold over the counter, such as hash browns, ice creams, etc, online, however, we encourage parents to continue to order their children’s lunches via the website.

Wishing you all a safe and relaxing two-week break and we’ll see you all in Term 4. May the best team win between Collingwood and West Coast Eagles next week, but we all know who’s going to win! Take care and God Bless.

Thank you.
