Sacrament of Penance

Last night, our Year 3 students and Parish candidates received the Sacrament of Penance. Father Ken and seven visiting priests led the children through their First Reconciliation. It was a very special night for all of the children and their families. Thank you to Mrs Peters, Mrs Musca and Miss Smith for preparing the students to receive this special sacrament and for organising a reflective and meaningful liturgy. Thanks also to Mr Leber for providing the music on the night.

Civics and Citizenship Canberra and Sydney Tour 2020

On Wednesday afternoon, Mr McIntyre and Ms Knight presented the proposed Canberra and Sydney Tour for 2020 to the current Year 5 families. It is bound to be another successful trip with the students being given the opportunity to visit many historic Australian sites. We ask all Year 5 families to please complete the online survey that was emailed out by Friday 1 November. If you have any queries about the tour, please do not hesitate to contact Mr McIntyre or Ms Knight directly.

NSI School Climate Surveys

Thank you to those families who took the time to complete the OLA Climate Survey. The responses are currently being collated by National School Improvement Partnerships and the summarised data will contribute to formulating our new Strategic Direction.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

On Sunday 17 November, the OLA P&F will be running the Bunnings Morley sausage sizzle. Volunteers are asked to please sign up to assist on the day. For further information, please refer to the P&F page of this newsletter.

Annual General Meeting

The School Board and P&F Annual General Meetings will be held on Tuesday 19 November at 6pm. If you would like to nominate for the School Board, please complete the attached nomination form. A summary of duties is also attached for your perusal.

If your child will not be returning to OLA in 2020, can you please advise the Leadership Team by emailing admin@ola.wa.edu.au to formally withdraw your child.

Pre-Kindy and Kindy 2020 Enrolments

If you have not yet enrolled your child in Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten for 2020, please contact the School Office to collect an enrolment package and to book an interview time with me.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten 2020 Parent Information Session and Orientation Mornings

The Parent Information Session for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten 2020 will be held on Friday 8 November at 9.30am in the Fr O’Mara Centre. The Pre-Kindergarten Orientation Morning, which provides the opportunity for students to visit the classroom, is scheduled for Friday 15 November between 9.30am and 10.30am. The Kindy Orientation Morning will be held on Friday 22 November with the session running between 9.30am and 10.30am.
