OLA Disco Friday 25 June – last chance to purchase tickets

Have you got your tickets yet? You have until this Friday 18 June to purchase tickets for next Friday’s disco. Make sure to complete the form with money included in a sealed envelope and return it to your class teacher as soon as possible.

Please note, hot dogs are pre order only and will not be sold during the night. Snacks and drinks will be available for sale throughout both sessions and a limited number of glow merchandise will be available for sale, at the start of each session for 50c / $2. We will only be taking cash sales on the night and due to COVID restrictions we are unable to give change, so please ensure you bring small change.

OLA Story Slam – Coming in July

This year, OLA will be hosting a read-a-thon to raise money for new furniture and shelving for the Veritas Library. The Parents and Friends Association is coordinating the event in collaboration with our Library staff. We are hoping the event will be a huge success, so the Veritas Library can finally get the upgrade that it needs – after all, it’s been almost 20 years since the last one!

How does it work?

It’s easy to participate in the OLA Story Slam, as it’s just like any other read-a-thon. Students read as many stories as they can and get friends and family to sponsor them for participating. However, unlike other read-a-thons, this is an inclusive event, so if your child finds reading a challenge, or is not yet able to read, they can still participate by asking parents to read to them or by listening to audiobooks. It all counts and we want everyone to feel part of this fun event!

When is this all happening?

The OLA Story Slam takes place throughout the month of July. It will include a ‘Bedtime Stories’ event, being held in the library on the evening of Tuesday 24 August. You will also have a special opportunity to purchase signed Cristy Burne books, the sales of which will contribute to our fundraising total.

We hope you will join in the fun and the fundraising and help us make the Veritas Library a more modern and more inviting space for our kids!

More information coming soon.
