First Communion Blessing

May you always know the peace of Jesus,
the light of his love,
and the joy of His life within you.
Amen

Principal’s Message – Issue Twenty One

Sacrament of Eucharist

We pray for our First Holy Communicants as they prepare to receive Jesus’ body and blood for the first time on Saturday 10 August and Saturday 17 August, with both masses being held at 4pm. We hope that the school community supports our communicants by coming along to sing in the choir. Please keep all communicants in your prayers during this special time.

Dance

On Monday, our 2019 Dance classes commenced with Meagan from Make A Move Dance Company. Meagan is a trained teacher who has a strong passion for Dance as part of The Arts curriculum. We warmly welcome Meagan to the OLA community and look forward to seeing the students’ performance on Wednesday 25 September at 2pm.

Write a Book in a Day Competition

On Monday, OLA participated in the Write a Book in a Day competition. Write a Book in a Day is a creative and challenging team competition for children in Years 5 and 6. Teams have just twelve hours to write and illustrate a book from start to finish. The OLA 2019 team of ten students wrote a book from 8am until 8pm. To make it even more fun, unique parameters must be included in the story. Completed books are donated to children in hospitals across Australia. Funds raised through sponsorship go to The Kids’ Cancer Project, a national charity with a mission to support scientific research to help children with cancer. Well done to all of our participants and a BIG thank you to Ms Mitchell and Mrs Erskine for supporting the students throughout the day.

CPSSA Interschool Cross Country Carnival

On Tuesday, Mrs Stewart, Mrs Dale and Miss Versace accompanied our 48 cross country competitors to the CPSSA Interschool Cross Country Carnival.
