Board Update
Some of you may be aware that changes to Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) were introduced in 2019, when the Catholic Bishops of Western Australia incorporated CEWA as a public company limited by guarantee. CEWA Ltd officially commenced operating on 1 January 2020 and with this the introduction of a new overarching Board was also established as the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia (CECWA).
In line with the changes noted above, Our Lady’s Assumption School Board will cease to operate at the end of 2020 and will re-establish as an Advisory Council from 1 January 2021. Our Lady’s Assumption School Advisory Council (OLASAC) will be a skills-based Council providing strategic advice through research, consultation, and discussion to further progress the direction of the School. This will include a focus on actions to advance the School’s strategies regarding its values, vision and mission in order to support the Principal and Leadership team in achieving best possible outcomes. The OLASAC will meet a minimum of twice per term (meetings are held in the evening) and all appointments to the Council are for a period of two years (with re-nominations not exceeding a full term of six years).
If you are interested in nominating to join the OLASAC in 2021, please complete the nomination form attached and submit it to the School Office or via email admin@ola.wa.edu.au, by no later than Monday 9 November. If you have any questions regarding the OLASAC and its role within the school, feel free to contact me at olaboardchair@ola.wa.edu.au.
