Leadership Message – Issue Thirteen

Prayer for Feast of the Assumption

Father in heaven,
all creation rightly gives you praise
for all life and all holiness come from you.
In the plan of Your wisdom,

Mary was raised body and soul in glory
to be with Him in heaven.
May we follow her example
in reflecting your holiness
and join in her hymn of endless life and praise.
Amen

Leadership Message – Issue Thirteen

Feast of the Assumption

On Monday we celebrated The Feast of the Assumption of Mary, it was a fantastic day, the school was a sea of blue, and we paused to appreciate the special role that Mary played in God’s plan to bring the living word, Jesus, to us. In my address to the school before Liturgy, I felt it necessary to draw attention to the joy that Mary brought to those around her, as we so often focus on the sadness and sacrifice she made towards the end of Jesus’ life. I hope your children celebrated and experienced joy on our Feast Day.

Sacrament of Eucharist

Please keep our year 4 communicants in your prayers as they receive the sacrament of Eucharist this Saturday. They have been doing a great job during their preparations, as parents, you should all be proud of your children.

Performing Arts

Congratulations to Declan, Joyce, Tasha & Charlotte who recently performed exceptional solos in the Performing Arts Festival. We are so proud of the way that they all represented themselves, their families and OLA. Well done!

Lost Property

There is a significant amount of unlabeled clothing accumulating in lost property.

Could you please check that your child’s clothing is labelled so in the event clothing is misplaced it can be returned to the owner. Whenever you purchase a new item of clothing please make sure that you label it before using it.

Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs)

OLA have been allocated an additional supply of free RATs for students. Both nasal swabs and lollipop RATs are available. The allocation is 20 RATs per STUDENT. Parents may (students aren’t permitted) collect the RATs from the school office from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm each day, for the next 2 weeks.

Students’ Stationery – Available Via the Canteen

With students not always having the stationery required at school, and parents having to go to the shops to purchase an item, like a pencil, the OLA Canteen will be selling everyday student stationery items to students. These items will be included on OLA Canteen QuickCliq menu and will be sold in the future:

  • Red and blue pens – 60c each
  • HB Pencils – 60c each
  • Glue Sticks – $2.20 each
  • Erasers – 60c each
  • Rulers – $1.95 each
  • Batteries (for the students’ laptop mouse) – $3.30 each

If purchasing an item, parents are requested to order the item online via QuickClick and the stationery will given to the students during the day. Students may also purchase these items on canteen days, over the counter.
