Lent
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome Back Family Night
Thank you to all the families who attended the Welcome Back Night last Friday night. We originally had planned a movie night (10 metre screen) for the children, however the decision was made not to proceed, due to the COVID restrictions placed a couple of weeks prior. We decided not to take a chance of not being able to proceed with the event and paying for the cost of the hire. In 2022, we will be coordinating a movie night and food vans for the families to purchase their dinner.
Curiosity Lab Furniture
Thanks to the P&F for fundraising and providing the funds for the Curiosity Lab furniture. The furniture has been ordered and should arrive later this term.
Year 6 Furniture
New furniture, for both Year 6 classrooms, has also been ordered and the items are being delivered later this term. We have now coordinated a schedule for all furniture to be replaced, in all classrooms, over the next few years. Commencing with the Year 6 furniture in 2021, the Year 5 furniture will be replaced in in 2022, Year 4 in 2023, and so on. Once we have gone through the cycle, we will start the process again. Thank you to the OLA School Advisory Council for supporting the purchase of the new furniture and allocating the funds.
SEQTA and Signing In/Out
Over the last few weeks, and last year, we have noticed students arriving to school late (after the 8.40am bell). A reminder, to all parents, we would like the students present by 8.40am, ready to learn and to avoid interruptions to the class. This is also an inconvenience to classroom teachers who then need to log back into the attendance register and sign the students in. Effective immediately, any child who arrives late needs to sign in at the front office before proceeding to class. Students in Pre-Primary to Year 3 will need to be signed in by their parents. A member of the Leadership Team will be present, outside the Administration Building, to remind parents and students to sign in after 8.40am.

Change to Curriculum Adjustment Plans (CAPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
CEWA have revised the way that adjustments for students are documented. All students who are having adjustments made for them in class, will be on an Individual Education Plan (IEP), the term Curriculum Adjustment Plan (CAP) will no longer be used. This does not mean that the level of adjustment for your child has changed, it is just a change to the terminology used to refer to the adjustments so that it is consistent. Your child’s class teacher will be in contact with you to go through your child’s IEP in the coming weeks. If you have any queries in regards to the change of terminology, please contact Assistant Principal, Rebecca Smith, directly.
Thank you.
