Welcome to Term 2!
Thank you for supporting the OLA Parents and Friends Association in Term 1 – it sure was a busy start to the year!
Congratulations to all the winners of the Easter Raffle, which raised an impressive $770 for the P&F to donate to the school for the purchase of smart screen TVs. Thank you also to all the families who made donations and purchased raffle tickets and of course to our wonderful class reps, who presented some very impressive prizes!
This term we are looking forward to our biggest fundraising event of the year, Bogan Bingo! The event, which is hosted by Australia’s best Bogan Bingo presenters boganbingo.com will be full of laughs and shenanigans and the best part – you can even wear your trackie dacks! Tickets will be on sale next week for $25 per person and can be purchased individually or in tables of 6 or 8.
Paul Litherland – Surf Online Safe Presentation
It was great to see so many parents at the Surf Online Safe Presentation with Paul Litherland on Tuesday night. The Fr. O’Mara Centre was filled with engaged parents, eager to know more about how they can protect their kids online – undoubtedly one of the most important topics for parents these days.
Paul, who was equal parts stand-up comedian and information guru, walked us through some of the traps our kids can fall into online. He also provided statistics of the online activity of our very own Year 4 and Year 6 classes, which was particularly enlightening. The evening was invaluable, and all parents left feeling more empowered to look after their kids in the cyber world. We look forward to having Paul back in the future.
The P&F Needs You

P&F Secretary: The P&F Secretary role is now available. This position is part of the P&F Executive Committee and involves creating the meeting agenda, writing minutes from the meeting, liaising with class reps to distribute information and supporting other committee members with event planning when needed.
Bogan Bingo: On Friday 14 June the P&F will be putting on a Bogan Bingo night, where parents and friends can get together to raise money for the kids and have a great time as a community. To ensure a successful night we need a few people to help rustle up some prizes and to set up the Sr. Goretti Hall on the day of the event.
Project Manager – OLA Community Fair 2020: In 2020, OLA would like to run a school fete, which involves each class, school families and the wider community. To make this happen we require a project manager to take charge of the event.
OLA School Fete Committee Members: Committee members are needed to support the work of the Project Manager.
