What’s on at the OLA Community Fete
We’re officially on the countdown with only 4 weeks to go before our fete kicks off on Sunday 24 October.
We’re aiming to fundraise as much as we can for the Veritas Library refurbishments including other school initiatives and resources. Here’s what we have planned on the day so far:
- Amusements – spider mountain, rock climbing wall, bouncy castle, dunk tank, bungee trampolines, warrior inflatable course.
- Animal farm
- Class stalls
- Food trucks
- Local business stalls (2 stalls are still available. Please email pandf@ola.wa.edu.au for more information)
- Live entertainment
- Silent auction/raffles
- Canteen – selling drinks, popcorn, lollies and fairy-floss
CLASS STALLS
Below is a list of the stalls that have been assigned to each year group. Parents of each year group will be responsible for filling the volunteer rosters for each stall, so if you haven’t put your name down yet please do!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK
Volunteer rosters to help man amusements, the silent auction, canteen and class stalls have been placed outside the office (PK-Y1 rosters are outside the classrooms). This is our biggest fundraiser for the year, so we need all hands on deck. If you can give up a bit of your time (while the kids run-a-muck), it will help make this event a success.

FETE DOLLARS & WRISTBANDS
We’re giving OLA families the opportunity to pre-purchase money vouchers at a discounted price, to be used at selected stalls and amusements on the day. Choose from the following packages:
- $20 fete dollars for $18 – 10% off
- $30 fete dollars for $25 – 15% off
- $40 fete dollars for $32 – 20% off
- $50 fete dollars for $38 – 25% off
The dollars will come in a mix of $1, $2 and $5 tickets. We’re also pre-selling wrist bands, which will give one child unlimited access to spider mountain, the climbing wall, bungee trampolines, warrior obstacle course, jumping castle and the dunk tank. These bands can be purchased for $50 each. Please refer to the information and order form that was distributed earlier last week.
SILENT AUCTION/RAFFLE
Principal for a Day Raffle – A special raffle exclusive to OLA students only! One lucky student will win the opportunity to be OLA Principal for a day! Tickets are $3 each or 5 for $10 and will only be sold on the day of the fete. The winner will be announced at the first assembly held after the fete.
Silent Auction – A big thank you to the families and businesses who have already donated items for our silent auction. A full list of auction items and sponsors will be announced soon. If you are a mad Wildcats or Perth Glory supporter you won’t want to miss the announcement!

More information regarding the day will be available soon. We’re looking forward to a fun and exciting day for our school community – we hope you can all join us.
2021 Footy Tipping Winners
That’s a wrap for this year’s footy tipping competition. Congratulations to our overall winner Tim Geddes who walks away with the $800 first prize!
