Sacred Saints Tournament
Last Thursday our Year 6 students and a few selected Year 5 students competed in the Sacred Saints Tournament against five other CPSSA Schools. We had great success in the soccer with both teams remaining undefeated all day, returning to OLA with the perpetual shield. With a team full of stars, they displayed incredible skills but focussed on teamwork. We had three netball teams that had success throughout the day as well. It is amazing to see the progress of teams, that have never played a competitive game before, grow in skills and knowledge over the course of the day. A big thank you to Mrs De Filippis who coached the A team for netball.
Winter Carnival
Yesterday, the Year 6 students played in the Winter Carnival. The idea of this day is participatory where there are no scores kept and children play against others who they may meet in Year 7. OLA entered an AFL team, a soccer team and two netball teams. A big thank you to Mrs Ricci who coached the A netball team.
Junior Cross Country
On Tuesday, students in Pre-Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 competed in the Junior Cross-Country event at Waverley Reserve. After a very chilly start, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny morning. Congratulations to all those who finished the course. Thank you to those parents who assisted classes walking to and from the reserve. Thank you also to our Year 6 Faction Captains who warmed up our runners and ensured they stayed on course.

Sporting Schools Rugby
On Wednesday, the final Sporting Schools Rugby session was held. The boys and girls have thoroughly enjoyed their sessions with Alistair from WA Rugby. They have improved their evasion and ball handling skills and have a better understanding of the rules of Rugby. It was fantastic to have our two special guests from the Western Force join us for the last session, thank you to Clay Uyen and Fergus Lee Warner for attending the session and mentoring our students.
Senior Cross Country
A reminder that there is training at Light St every Tuesday and Thursday from 3.30-4pm. All are welcome!
Course marshals are required for the safety and wellbeing of our students. Six parents per age group are required to fulfil the course marshal roles. If you are able to assist for one or all races, please let me know ASAP. jodie.stewart@cewa.edu.au Thank you in advance!
