CPSSA Interschool Athletics Carnival
On Tuesday, the Athletics Team represented OLA in the CPSSA Carnival at the State Athletics Centre. The team had some outstanding performances, but consistency was key to our success with the majority of our students finishing with ribbons in the track events. The team games of Leaderball were incredibly tense and proved that lunchtime training was well worth it. The day finished with the most exciting event, the Grand Relay. This event consisted of 2 students (boy and girl) from each year level running a shuttle relay. The team chose their order and whilst the lead changed many times over the course of the 8 legs, OLA finished in first place with the final leg run by Tiana, fending off the Year 6 boy runners from all competing schools. OLA finished in second place overall and I could not have been prouder of their efforts and their commitment to excellence. Thank you to those parents who came to support the team and especially to our OLA parents, Sharon and Kathy, for assisting with the Year 3 Long Jump.
CPSSA Summer Carnival
A reminder to Year 5 Parents to return the permission slip for the Summer Carnival asap please. We still require a coach and or manager for each team so if you are available for one of these roles, please let me know.
